Free listings for sellers

Estate agents may offer "Market Plus" to their vendors; a free marketing opportunity available exclusively through the Homewise partnership.

Put simply, Market Plus is an optional extra online property listing on the UK's top property portals, Rightmove & Zoopla. It may be offered to all sellers (subject to criteria) & is completely free of charge.

A second listing increases exposure for sellers, encouraging more interest in their property and helping to secure the right buyer sooner.

Got a question?

If you are selling a property, are looking to buy & have questions about Homewise property listings, or are just curious about Market Plus in general, read our FAQs below! If you can't see your question or would like further detail please get in touch with our team at any time.

How does a Homewise "Market Plus" listing work?

Your property will be listed for sale online with your estate agent as normal and, subject to property criteria, you’ll have an additional listing with Homewise. So, double the exposure & double the chance of your property being seen by interested buyers!

It's completely optional so, if you do not want the second listing, you can opt out at any time. Just let your agent know and they can update your agreement with them to either stop the listing from going ahead or remove it at a later date.

For more information about Market Plus and its benefits, read our detailed guide

What will my Homewise listing look like?

The images & property description will be the same as your listing with your estate agent & there will be extra text explaining how people aged 60+ could secure the property for less with a Homewise “Home for Life Plan”.

There will be an ‘Over 60s’ logo & guide price on the listing – this is 33% less than your standard market price to indicate how much a Homewise customer may pay, on average, for a Home for Life Plan on the property.

Will my property be sold for the Homewise guide price?

No, don’t worry. You will not receive any less for your property, this is just an example price for Homewise customers.

If someone aged 60+ wanted to purchase a Home for Life Plan on the property, Homewise would buy the property from you for the full agreed selling price. The over 60s customer would then pay a lesser amount (depending on their age & criteria) to Homewise for a “Lifetime Lease” to live there, as part of their Home for Life Plan.

Advertising your property at two prices increases the chances of finding a buyer sooner - more people will be interested in the property as it will appear in many more searches.

Homewise may not be the buyer of the property in the end, but it shows the opportunity for movers aged 60+ that they could live there for less.

As with any property sale, you (as the vendor) will receive offers and agree on the final selling price with your estate agent. You will not receive any less for your property if a Homewise customer wants to live there - we would act as a cash buyer and purchase at the full agreed price just like any other buyer.

Please note: If you do not want the Homewise listing for your property then you can opt out at any time. Please instruct your estate agent and the Homewise listing will be removed.

Why is my property listed online with Homewise?

If you are selling your property with one of our estate agent partners then they will have included the second "Market Plus" listing as a free, optional, marketing opportunity for you.

The Market Plus option is detailed in your vendor agreement with your estate agent.

Please be assured Homewise is not selling your property and you will still receive the full agreed selling price when your estate agent sells your property - not the advertised Homewise guide price.

If you do not want the extra exposure from the Homewise listing then you can opt out at any time. Please instruct your estate agent and the Homewise listing will be removed.

Is Homewise my estate agent if I have a Homewise listing?

No, your instructed estate agent remains your point of contact and is still the agent selling your property.

Homewise are not estate agents & we will not be selling your property. We simply publish an extra listing, as detailed in your selling agreement with your agent, to promote your property to a wider audience.

Is there a cost for the second listing?

No, the Homewise listing is completely free of charge & exclusively available to you through our partnership with your estate agent.

How do I sign up for a free extra listing?

If you are selling a property (that meets our criteria) through one of our trusted partner estate agents then you may already have the listing activated!

As part of your selling agreement with your estate agent, you may have agreed to Market Plus already; in which case you don’t need to do anything. The extra Market Plus listing will automatically activate for you.

If you do not have the second listing but wish to, speak with your agent and they can process the request for you at any time.

How do I remove the Homewise listing for my property?

You can request for the Homewise listing to be removed at any time. Simply contact your estate agent and they will process the request.

Please note: Portal feeds can take up to 24hrs to refresh and the listing may remain visible during this time.

If you wish to contact Homewise directly regarding a Market Plus listing, please email marketplusagreements@homewise.co.uk. Depending on the system configuration and the partner estate agent, we may be able to process your request directly, but your estate agent is best placed to help and advise in any case.

Are all property types eligible for a Market Plus listing?

No, a property must meet certain criteria in order to go live with Market Plus. For example, commercial properties, holiday lets, or properties that are not of standard construction (like Park Homes) are not eligible for Market Plus.

For full details of the property criteria or if you believe your property was rejected in error, please speak with your agent in the first instance or email marketplusagreements@homewise.co.uk.
