Homewise Climb Snowdon for Mind | Homewise

On Saturday 30th April 2016, the Homewise team will be taking on Snowdon! At 3,560 feet high, Snowdon is one of the highest mountains in the British Isles and the team will be walking a grand total of 7,120 feet to raise money for Mind, the UK’s leading mental health charity.

Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, campaigning to improve mental health services, raise awareness and promote understanding. It’s because of Mind that millions of people now have access to the advice and support they need, but demand for Mind’s support is growing. In fact, one in four people in the UK will suffer from a mental health problem every year.

  • £3 can send information booklets to nine people, helping them to understand the symptoms of their illness
  • £8 could fund one phone call by one of Mind’s specialist advisors
  • £15 could pay for someone with a mental health problem to be able to take part in a group therapy session

We have a long history of charity fundraising here at Homewise, and this is the latest in a long list of events that have raised tens of thousands for various charity causes.

Justin Neal, Director of Homewise, said: “Homewise is really excited to be fundraising for Mind, the mental health charity. When you have a mental health problem, you need advice and support. You need someone to turn to and quickly. But each day, thousands of people struggle to get the support they desperately need. The money we raise by climbing Snowdonia means more people will get the help they need at the time they need it.”
