Our Oarsome Challenge | Homewise

Very soon, on the 29th June, our brave Homewise team will be rowing the length of the River Thames, yes that's right!!! The River Thames to raise £10,000 for not just one, but two charities.

12 intrepid members of the team will be travelling up to the capital to row on the river itself, whilst the rest of the team will be using rowing machines at the head office in Worthing to make sure they hit their target of 215 miles.

Charity fundraising

The two charities we are raising money for are the Ronald McDonald House Charities and AHOY

Ronald Mcdonald House Charities

Ronald Mcdonald House Charities provides home-from-home accommodation for families whose children are in hospital “offering the gift of togetherness and support”. Their aim is to make children happier and healthier by keeping families close – giving them a place to rest and refresh. A place that feels like home. Their network of houses is tailored to meet the urgent needs of each community and can now be found in more than 63 countries and regions across the globe.

AHOY

AHOY is a water-based charity that changes people’s lives through sailing and rowing. Their primary objective is giving opportunities for disadvantaged or at-risk youths and disabled people to participate in activities and courses on an equal level. By bringing together people from many walks of life to work together as a community and help others, Ahoy teaches invaluable transferable and employable skills.

Here at Homewise, we are used to taking on and conquering challenges. Our team regularly get hands on with local community projects and each year select a national charity to support, extending our company values to inspire and empower people in their everyday lives.
